CEE Annual Darwin's Birthday Debate will highlight the debate on policy and activism and the role of a scientist and their responsibilities. This will be followed by a wine reception.

All staff, postdocs, students and affiliated institutions are encouraged to attend to engage with other London-area researchers in ecology and evolution.

'Translating biodiversity science into conservation policy'

Richard Gregory is Head of Monitoring at the RSPB Centre for Conservation Science and Honorary Professor at the Centre for Biodiversity and Environment Research at University College London. He has published on a range of topics from epidemiology to biodiversity science, from study design to citizen science, and is the winner of the European Bird Census Council Award 2013 and the UniBio Press Award for Ornithological Science 2011. Dr Tristram Wyatt is a Senior Research Fellow at the Department of Biology, University of Oxford, an Honorary Research Fellow at the Centre for Biodiversity and Environment Research (CBER) ,UCL, and an award-winning author. He is also co-founder of the University of Oxford's official LGBT+ Staff Network.
